¿Quiénes somos?
Somos un grupo costarricense interesado en el flamenco, que nos reunimos para estudiar y aprender un poco de este arte desde 1991. A lo largo de los años hemos ido creciendo y hoy están con nosotros desde niñas pequeñas hasta mujeres maduras que se dieron la oportunidad de disfrutar y aprender algo diferente y enriquecedor para sus vidas.
Todos juntos conformamos Al Andalus: una Academia de baile flamenco y un grupo profesional de cante, guitarra y baile, que regularmente ofrece presentaciones privadas y espectáculos en teatros.

Nuestra Historia
Nuestros orígenes datan de 1983, cuando Patricia Urrutia, guatemalteca radicada en Costa Rica, conformó su escuela de baile español. Al mismo tiempo, tambíén en nuestro país, el cantaor sevillano Fernando Mejías inculcaba en sus hijos Juan y Jose el amor por el cante y la guitarra flamenca. Ambas familias se conocieron y para 1991 se conforma el grupo Al Andalus como tal, bajo la dirección de la hija mayor de Urrutia, la bailaora Rocío González…
La Academia
Tenemos grupos para todas las edades, desde niñas hasta señoras mayores, en niveles que van desde principiantes hasta avanzados. Una vez al mes las alumnas reciben una clase de expresión corporal de la mano de una actriz profesional.
Al Andalus es ante todo una familia y eso se percibe en el ambiente de las lecciones. Fomentamos el aprendizaje y la disciplina, pero ante todo el disfrute, el compañerismo y goce a través del baile.
